Schumacher Group Second in Top 50

Lafayette, LA - July 30, 2010 - Growth and success of Schumacher Group got widely recognized recently as the company nabbed second place among Acadiana’s Top 50 Privately Held Companies, right behind a business twice as big and longer established.

The honor came in the latest edition of Acadiana Business, which publishes the annual list based on review of businesses throughout a six-parish (county) region.

Schumacher Group closely followed a long-time oilfield service company with more than 1,500 employees and founded in 1938. The company started by Dr. William “Kip” Schumacher 16 years ago now notes over 750 employees and business across 21 states. Schumacher Group climbed from last year’s number three spot.

Honored companies represent a variety of business types, sizes, ages and revenue standings. While many conduct business in large geographical areas, each has its home office in Acadia, Iberia, Vermilion, St. Landry, St. Martin or Lafayette Parish.
