Additional RMO Named in West Division

Houston, Texas - January 20, 2010 - Schumacher Group’s West Division has announced the hire of an additional Regional Medical Officer, and with that, slight reorganization of two of its Southwest Regions in Texas.

Effective March 1, Jude P. Malican, MD, MMM, FACEP, will serve as RMO for a reconstituted SW 1 Region comprised of all Christus client facilities. RMO leadership of those facilities is being transitioned from Dr. Mike Pawlowski, who will continue to oversee the company’s SW4 Region out of Dallas in service to all East Texas Medical Center contracts and seven south Texas client relationships. Dr. Pawlowski had previously served as RMO over both the SW 1 and 4 Regions.

Malican’s hire was announced by West Division President Mark Mitchell, D.O., who pointed to a long list of Malican credentials and professional affiliations.

Malican completed his undergraduate and School of Medicine studies in St. Louis, Mo., followed by an internship in New York, the U.S. Army Flight Surgeon Course in Alabama, his emergency medicine residency in Georgia and several academic appointments. He also holds a management degree from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburg, Pa.

He is board certified in emergency medicine, a fellow in the American College of Emergency Physicians and a member of the American College of Physician Executives, in addition to belonging to other professional societies.

Schumacher Group looks forward to an association with Dr. Malican in an RMO capacity beginning March 1.
