Schumacher Group Touted in Modern Healthcare

Chicago, IL - January 17, 2008 - The Schumacher Group’s standing as third largest and single fastest growing Emergency Department management group has been validated with a nod from Modern Healthcare magazine. The publication touted Schumacher Group as one of the “Top Emergency Department Contractors” in its annual Outsourcing Survey.

In fact, TSG outpaced the top seven such companies mentioned for percentage growth between 2005 and 2006.

Citing a 2006 number of 122 ED contracts (up from 102 in 2005), the report noted a 19.6 percent change in one year for TSG, compared to 12.3 percent for the nearest competitor among the top seven in the business. TSG contracts now total over 140.

The Modern Healthcare survey revealed that overall the pace of outsourcing contracts continues to grow annually, with the top 20 largest outsourcing companies reporting an average increase of 10.6 percent.

Modern Healthcare has conducted the non-scientific survey on outsourcing for 29 years. Some 55 companies responded to this year’s survey, up from 37 last year, with the number of clients increasing across a range of services. Respondents are companies that provide on-site management to hospital departments, long term care facilities, clinics and physician group practices.
