East Division Appoints COO

Atlanta, GA - February 28, 2010 - The appointment of Anita Wegner as Chief Operating Officer for the company’s East Division rounds out the leadership team of Schumacher Group’s new divisional model begun in July.

Wegner starts with Schumacher Group March 1, following an extensive job search and multiple interviews with Corporate and Divisional leaders.

A Certified Public Accountant with a Masters of Business Administration, she brings to the job over 20 years of financial experience and 15 years in the healthcare industry. Her background includes emergency medicine practice management, hospital-based contracting, and experience in the insurance industry as well as quality improvement organizations.

Wegner has held the positions of Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer in large multi-state physician practice management groups, having started new companies, spun off and sold existing companies, and managed the financial aspects, regulatory compliance and mergers and acquisitions of corporations. She also has hands-on experience with hospital contract management and managed care negotiations.

Wegner earned two undergraduate degrees and her MBA from Meredith College in Raleigh, North Carolina. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, North Carolina Certified Public Accounts Association, The Financial Networking Group, and a local Women’s Executive Group.
