DART - Disaster Assistance Response Team

Schumacher Group physicians know that Emergency Medicine is so much more than a job. It’s a calling, a duty.

While human nature often compels people to flee natural disasters, our Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) steps up full force to relieve hospitals during and after disasters. Our commitment to optimal patient care carries over even during the worst of circumstances. Entirely voluntary, the DART program is an opportunity to be there when you’re needed most.

DART membership is open to physicians and mid-level practitioners, whether working with Schumacher Group or not yet affiliated with us. To sign up or get more information, visit http://schumachergroup.com/physicians/dart/.

Hear from DART’s Clinical Team Leader, Stephen Nichols, MD:

“My stint down in Beaumont during Hurricane Ike was one of the most rewarding things I've done in my career. It was great to experience Emergency Medicine in an extraordinary way. The memorable cases and experiences, and an incredible story of survival from one patient, will always stay with me. In Emergency Medicine, we help people--all comers--in whatever way we can. The DART team allowed me to help some of our own.”
